MALIBU—The city of Malibu is looking to hire an environmental sustainability analyst. The salary for the position is: $105,941 – $138,229 annually, plus benefits.
This full-time position supports innovative environmental initiatives and sustainability programs and develops and coordinates programs that protect Malibu’s natural resources and advance the city’s sustainability goals. The Environmental Sustainability Analyst will work on projects involving clean water, energy efficiency, green building, solar energy, sustainable procurement, watershed management, hazardous materials, and community environmental outreach.
The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental programs, research and analysis, public policy, grant writing, and community engagement, with the ability to develop effective solutions and collaborate with residents, agencies, and city departments. The city is also looking to hire a Fire Safety Liaison. The position has a salary of $50.93 – $66.46 per hour.
This part-time position plays a key role in strengthening Malibu’s wildfire resilience by working with residents, neighborhoods, local fire agencies, and community partners.
Duties include serving as a liaisons to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, responding to local fire incidents and providing incident information to City officials, coordinating fire safety education programs, conducting first aid and other trainings for city staff and residents, supporting Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) trainings, serving as regional coordinators for Malibu’s Firewise USA program, conducting Home Wildfire Assessments, assisting with emergency communications, and helping residents prepare for wildfires and other emergencies.
The candidate will have experience in fire prevention, emergency preparedness, public outreach, and community engagement, with strong communication and presentation skills. Interested applicants should apply by August 1, 2026.
