BEVERLY HILLS—On December 11, The LA Metro website notified travelers that the D Line Subway Extension Project is coming soon. It will have an additional nine miles of subway service to the Metro’s rail network. When completed, riders will be able to go from downtown LA to Westwood in approximately 25 minutes. The extension is a connection to major job centers such as the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Century City, Westwood Village, UCLA, UCLA-Ronald Reagan Medical Center, and West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. The stops will make stops at tourism destinations, the LA County Museum of Art (LACMA) as well. “The project is being built in three sections to enhance safety, mobility, and access along the Wilshire corridor. The Metro D Line Subway Extension expands the subway from Koreatown to Westwood, connecting Downtown Los Angeles to the Westside. This high-capacity, zero-emission rail line will reduce travel times, improve access to jobs and education, and support cleaner, more sustainable travel across Los Angeles County,” stated LA Metro on its website.   By Sharon
