Driver Hospitalized After Driving Through Storefront

SANTA MONICA—On Thursday, December 11, at approximately 11:30 p.m. a driver in a BMW was transported to an area hospital after crashing through the storefront of Sir Speedy Print Shop located at 2632 Santa Monica Boulevard near Princeton Street. According to reports, speed may have been a factor in the crash. The driver whose name has not been released hit a light pole. The BMW was left in a crumpled blocking one lane on Santa Monica Boulevard. Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department closed Santa Monica Boulevard between 26th and Princeton Street during the investigation and clean up. Sir Speedy Printshop is located on the bottom floor of the building. It was severely damaged. There were no reported injuries in the loft apartment above the print shop.
