HOLLYWOOD—On Saturday, December 21, the LAFD reported a structure fire at 1:48 a.m. at 5613 W. Lexington Avenue in Hollywood. The 3-story center hall style apartment building had a fire located inside an elevator machine room on the roof of the building. By 11:48 a.m., officials reported the blaze was extinguished.
It took 43 firefighters to extinguish the fire in 32 minutes. The bulk of the fire was contained to the elevator machine room with minor extension into the attic space. There were no injures reported.
Crews remained on scene to work on hitting any remaining hot spots in the void spaces. No details on the cause of the fire have been disclosed to the public.
