Multi-Family Home Catches Fire In Lincoln Heights

SANTA MONICA—On February 10 at 11:33 a.m. the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to a call of a structure fire at 2235 Johnston Street in Lincoln Heights. Firefighters arriving at the scene reported a fire on the second floor of a four-plex multi-family structure.

According to the Alert page on the LAFD website, 54 firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in 14 minutes. Quick action from the first responders prevented the fire from spreading by keeping it contained to the unit it originated in.

Paramedics transported one individual to an area hospital. The patient’s condition is unknown. There were no other reported injuries to residents of the dwelling or the firemen.

There have been no reports indicating the cause of the fire.

Structure Fire Extinguished On Lexington Avenue

HOLLYWOOD—On Saturday, December 21, the LAFD reported a structure fire at 1:48 a.m. at 5613 W. Lexington Avenue in Hollywood. The 3-story center hall style apartment building had a fire located inside an elevator machine room on the roof of the building. By 11:48 a.m., officials reported the blaze was extinguished.

It took 43 firefighters to extinguish the fire in 32 minutes. The bulk of the fire was contained to the elevator machine room with minor extension into the attic space. There were no injures reported.

Crews remained on scene to work on hitting any remaining hot spots in the void spaces. No details on the cause of the fire have been disclosed to the public.

Structure Fire Battled On Kester Avenue

SHERMAN OAKS—On Tuesday, December 17, the Los Angeles Fie Department extinguished a structure fire in Sherman Oaks. The 9-1-1 call was first received at 10:32 p.m. By 11:14 p.m. officials reported the blaze was extinguished at 4721 N. Kester Avenue.

Firefighters extinguished multiple vehicles as well involved in the fire inside a carport (one was an hybrid). Two apartment units sustained broken windows and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was notified for damage to the electrical panels for the two exposed buildings.

There were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Structure Fire Extinguished By LAFD On Ventura Blvd.

SHERMAN OAKS—On Monday, October 21, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported that at 2:38 a.m. a structure fire in Sherman Oaks had been extinguished at 13817 W Ventura Blvd.

At 2:07 a.m. firefighters responded to a structure fire to find an outside fire extending into a 50’ x 100’ one story, commercial building.

A knockdown was achieved in 31 minutes with no injuries reported. The metal clad building sustained damage across the back and into the rear of the building. No further details about the fire has been disclosed to the public.

Structure Fire Extinguished At Beverly Grove

WEST HOLLYWOOD/MELROSE—On Tuesday, October 8, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported a structure fire at 11:39 p.m. The fire was at 335 N Fairfax Avenue near Beverly Grove. It took 90 firefighters to extinguish the fire in 1 hour and 17 minutes.

There were no injuries reported during the incident. The two businesses were vacant. The exposed units were defended from damage. Per protocol, LAFD Arson is responding for the investigation. No further details about the incident have been disclosed to the public.

LAFD Battle Structure Fire In Hollywood Hills

The LAFD battled a structure fire in Hollywood Hills.

HOLLYWOOD HILLS—On Thursday, September 19, the Los Angeles Fire Department battled a structure fire in Hollywood Hills.

The incident was reported at 1:52 p.m. at 2930 N Cahuenga Blvd. Approximately one-quarter acre of light-to-medium brush burning, with one structure threatened. By 2:20 p.m., the LAFD provided an update where firefighters found a hillside behind a home burning and quickly deployed hose lines around both flanks of the fire.

It took 36 firefighters to extinguish the flames in 28 minutes, keeping the fire from affecting structures on a nearby residential property. One wooden fence sustained minor damage. The total size of the burned area is between approximately 1/8 to 1/4 of an acre. There were no reported injuries during the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by officials.

Structure Fire On N Crystal Springs Dr. Extinguished

GRIFFITH PARK—The Los Angeles Fire Department reported on Friday, July 12, at 2:12 a.m. they battled a structure fire at 4400 N. Crystal Springs Dr.

Overnight, LAFD crews responded to reports of a rubbish fire near Griffith Park & Southern Railroad. Firefighters on scene reported a covered storage and maintenance area fully involved upon their arrival, with 30-foot flame lengths extending into nearby trees.

It was difficult in the beginning for officials to access the region, but crews were able to force entry and extinguish the blaze in just over an hour.

The loss of the involved structure(s) and any storage therein appeared to be complete. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under active investigation. Those with media inquiries can contact Griffith Park Rangers, (323) 644-6661.

LAFD Battle Structure Fire In Hollywood Hills

HOLLYWOOD HILLS—On Sunday, June 30, the Los Angeles Fire Department battled a structure fire in Hollywood Hills West. The fire was reported at 6:59 a.m. at 8100 W. Sunset Blvd.

First-arriving companies reported a one-story single-family dwelling with fire showing from the front. Firefighters proceeded in offensive mode, breaching entrances to fight fire and search for victims. They ascended to the roof to ventilate the pressurized smoke and heat.

Full extinguishment of the blaze was completed in 35 minutes. There was a total of 37 firefighters on-scene. There were no reports of any injuries. The official cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
