WESTWOOD—On August 24, the UCPD announced that on Wednesday, August 26, they will participate in a regional public safety training exercise for Southern California law enforcement agencies. Training will occur near Hedrick Court, one of the student dormitories, and the 10th parking lot. Training will run from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During the exercise, students, faculty, and staff may hear simulated weapons fire and may see an increased presence of officers, helicopters, and additional emergency vehicles.  Signs will be posted to identify the training area, and personnel will be present in the designated areas.

The UCPD thanked the community for its patience and support during the training exercise. There is no threat to the campus, it is only an exercise.
