Five Suspects Arrested In Retail Theft Blitz Operation

TOPANGA CANYON—On Thursday, December 19, the Los Angeles Police Department reported detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga Division Burglary announced the arrest of multiple theft suspects during a series of blitz operations aimed at stopping retail theft.

The LAPD reported that in response to rising incidents of theft affecting local retail establishments in and around the Westfield Topanga Mall area, Topanga area officers conducted a series of blitz operations on impacted retailers. A blitz operation is when law enforcement proactively saturates an area with personnel and resources to address a specific issue and enhance community safety.

On December 17, a total of three blitz operations were conducted. One retailer operating inside the Westfield Topanga Mall in the 6600 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, one retailer in the 21400 block of Victory Boulevard, and one retailer operating in the Fallbrook Mall in the 6600 block of Fallbrook Avenue. The following individuals were arrested:

-55-year-old Artemus Shydian, Booking No. 6937456, RFC No. K07634
-64-year-old Javid Gholami, RFC No. K12436
-20-year-old Jacob Beccera, Booking No. 6937445
-18-year-old Tanner Talei, RFC No. K07442
-54-year-old Diana Aragon, Booking No. 6912815 and RFC No. F51128

Under the Los Angeles County Misdemeanor Bail Schedule, several of the suspects were eligible to be cited and released, others had pending warrants.
