WEST HOLLYWOOD—If you want to help design a street, now is your chance, as the City of West Hollywood is extending an invitation to citizens to participate in a meeting to help with the Fountain Avenue Streetscape Project, which aims to redesign Fountain Avenue, to make the Avenue safer and redesign the scenery surrounding it. The meeting date is Tuesday, August 19, 2025. The event will take place at the Plummer Park Community Center, in rooms 5 and 6, and will begin at 6 p.m. After a brief open house and refreshments being served, at 6:30 p.m., a presentation will begin in which those attending the event will be informed of the goals of the project and the floor will be opened to questions.

The Fountain Avenue Streetscape Project is funded by California Climate Investments, which is a statewide initiative to improve public health and the environment. This project will be conducted in two phases. During phase one the City of West Hollywood will reduce the lanes down to two from four and will add protection for bike lanes. It will also improve the cross walks, remove on-street parking on the north side of Fountain Avenue, and add new signage, striping, and additional crosswalk improvements. During Phase two the construction of the project will be completed.
