BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills posted on its Facebook page on Monday, December 15 that some areas of the city was experiencing power outages. A water main break on Olympic Boulevard between Doheny and Wetherly Drives on Monday that impacted power in a portion of Beverly Hills.
City crews and representatives from Southern California Edison (SCE) had been working onsite throughout the day to repair the line. All water service was restored by the evening.
Approximately 250,000 gallons of water traveled from a vault on Olympic Boulevard into an SCE substation overnight. SCE is redirecting power through the grid to provide temporary power, but full restoration is not expected until Tuesday.
“We appreciate residents’ patience as we work diligently to make the repair,” said Director of Public Works Shana Epstein. “We understand this is incredibly frustrating and we are utilizing all resources to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.”
