Sixth Annual Veterans Day Ceremony At Santa Monica Pier

SANTA MONICA—The city of Santa Monica announced on its website that the sixth annual Veterans Day ceremony will transpire are the Santa Monica Pier on Tuesday, November 11.

The city of Santa Monica will join the U.S. Army for a Veterans Day ceremony on Tuesday at 11 a.m. on the Santa Monica Pier.

The event will feature performances that include, a Chinook helicopter flyover, a presentation of awards to Palisades Fire recovery heroes as well as remarks from senior military leaders and local elected officials.

The ceremony, which will take place on the Pier’s west parking deck. The event is free and open to the public.

The event program will include:

-Posting of Colors performed by the JROTC cadets from James Monroe High School

-A Chinook helicopter flyover from Coulson Aviation

-National Anthem performance by Master Sergeant Keith Beyer and “God Bless America” performance by Miss USO Heidi-Marie Ferren

-Remarks from retired Army Colonel Otto Padron

-Keynote speech from General Bryan P. Fenton, Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command

-Remarks from Santa Monica Mayor Lana Negrete

-Remarks from Santa Monica Councilmember and Army veteran Dan Hall

-Presentation of awards to Palisades Fire recovery heroes

-Future soldier swearing-in ceremony by Commanding General of the California Army National Guard Major General Jeffrey Smiley

-Free ride tickets for veterans and active military members (courtesy of Pacific Park)

“Veterans Day is not just a day on the calendar — it is a living reminder of the courage, sacrifice and steadfast devotion that have preserved our freedom for generations,” said Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army Sonki Hong, who organized the event. “Every veteran carries within them a story of honor and resilience, and through their service, they have written the very definition of patriotism. Today, and every day, we stand united in gratitude for those who answered the call to defend our nation.”

26th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony At Malibu City Hall

MALIBU—The city of Malibu will be hosting the 26th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony to honor the men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The event is a partnership hosted with the Malibu Navy League, Pepperdine University, and the Malibu Association of Realtors, Tuesday, November 11, at 11 a.m. at Malibu City Hall (23825 Stuart Ranch Road). The event is free to attend; no RSVPs are needed.

The theme for 2025 is “Veterans: Stronger Together, United We Stand,” celebrates the strength, unity, and sacrifice of veterans and their families. The program includes a color guard, guest speaker, and musical performances by the Pepperdine University Choir, along with stories shared by local veterans.

Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Malibu City Hall.

Malibu’s Veterans Day Ceremony remains a community tradition, bringing residents together in gratitude and remembrance for those who have served.

Veterans Day Community Gathering In Beverly Hills

BEVERLY HILLS—On Monday, November 3, the city of Beverly Hills posted on its Facebook page that Mayor Sharona Nazarian will participate with the city for Veterans Day Community Gathering to honor the brave men and women who served our country.

The event will take place on Monday, November 10 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Beverly Gardens Park. The event will take place in front of Hunter and Hounds statue between N. Canon and N. Crescent Drives located at 9349 Santa Monica Blvd.

All community members are welcome, and city encourages the public to bring their family, friends, and neighbors to share in the meaningful ceremony.

Veterans Day Celebration To Be Held On Santa Monica Pier

SANTA MONICA—On Monday, November 4, the city of Santa Monica indicated in a press release that they will join U.S. Army for a Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, November 11, at 11 a.m. on the Santa Monica Pier.

The event will include performances, military demonstrations and a flyover, as well as remarks from senior military leaders and local elected officials. The ceremony will take place on the Pier’s west parking deck and it is free and open to the public.

The event program will include:

-A military convoy led by former NFL players Andrew Whitworth, Cade McNown, and Donnie Edwards with Army vehicles from the California Army National Guard.

-Posting of Colors performed by UCLA ROTC cadets

-A military flyover with Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters from the U.S. Army Reserve

-Demonstration by the West Point Drill Team from the United States Military Academy (sponsored by American Legion Palisades Post 283)

-Performances by the 300th Army Band

-National Anthem and “God Bless America” performances by Miss USO Heidi-Marie Ferren

-Keynote speech from a top Army 4-star General

-Remarks from Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock

-Remarks from Councilmember Gleam Davis

-Remarks from former NFL All-Pro and Super Bowl champion Andrew Whitworth

-Future soldier swearing-in ceremony by Major General Dianne Del Rosso

Veterans Day Celebration At City Hall

MALIBU—On Monday, November 11, the city of Malibu will hosted its 25th Annual Veterans Day Celebration at City Hall.

It will be hosted by hosted by the Malibu Navy League, Pepperdine University, the city of Malibu, and the Malibu Association of Realtors. The special event will take place at 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd.

The program, themed “A Quarter Century of Honor – 25 Years of Saluting the Past, Inspiring the Future,” will run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will feature keynote speaker Pat Boone. Following the ceremony, refreshments will be served from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Attendees are asked to bring a photo of a family member who has served or is currently serving, to show gratitude and remembrance. For more details contact Ani Dermenjian at 310-738-0499.
