HOLLYWOOD HILLS—At 6:20 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the brush fire in the Hollywood Hills West as a result of the Sunset Fire that led to evacuation orders North of Franklin Avenue from Camino Palmero St (East border) to N Sierra Bonita Ave. (West border) would re-open at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 8.
Approximately 10 acres was burning between Runyon Canyon and Wattles Park. A Mandatory Evacuation Order was in place for Laurel Canyon Boulevard (on the west) to Mulholland Drive (on the north) to 101 Freeway (on the east) down to Hollywood Blvd (on the south).
The brush fire at 2350 N Solar Drive had previously closed off that section because of the Sunset Fire. It will now be OPEN and all evacuation orders LIFTED. The LAFD will still be working in the area and ask individuals to be careful while returning to their homes.
