Spooky Splash At Santa Monica Swim Center

SANTA MONICA—On Sunday, October 19, the city of Santa Monica posted on its Facebook page that it will be hosting the Spooky Splash at Santa Monica Swim Center on Friday, October 24.

The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Santa Monica Swim Center located at 2225 16th St.

Join us for an evening of recreational swimming, floating pumpkin patch, spooky flicks, arts & crafts, and tricks and treats. Explore the Sharks Haunted House, conquer the floating obstacle course, and grab dinner from local food trucks. Costumes are encouraged, get tickets in advance and skip the line.

Fall Funtastic Harvest Festival In Beverly Hills

BEVERLY HILLS—The public is asked to showcase their pumpkin carving skills at the upcoming Fall Funtastic Harvest Festival.

How to enter the Pumpkin Carving & Decorating Contest:
1. Create your pumpkin masterpiece at home.
2. Bring it to the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market @beverlyhillsfarmersmarket on Sunday, October 26 by 9 a.m.
3. Cast your vote for your favorite pumpkin between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
4. Winners will be announced shortly after voting ends

Join for a fun-filled morning at the Fall Funtastic Festival featuring:

-Día de los Muertos Mini Altar Making with Self Help Graphics & Art
-Face Painting
-Story-time hosted by Beverly Hills Public Library
-Danza Azteca Performance
-Día de los Muertos Mariachi & Dance with Cortines High School
-Costume Parade (Don’t forget to wear your best Halloween outfit!)
-Arts & Crafts, Petting Zoo, Photo Ops, and more.

West Hollywood Hosting Floating Pumpkin Patch

WEST HOLLYWOOD—The city of West Hollywood revealed on Monday, October 13 that the Recreation Services Division will host a Floating Pumpkin Patch on Sunday, October 26, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the West Hollywood Park Aquatic and Recreation Center 5th floor, located at 8750 El Tovar Place, adjacent to the West Hollywood Library.

The event is a buoyant twist on the traditional pumpkin patch. This Floating Pumpkin Patch is a Halloween-themed recreational swim in the heated pool while surrounded by pumpkins as they’re floating in the water. There will be Halloween themed music and other activities planned for the whole family to enjoy.

There will be pumpkins of all sizes. There is a limit of one pumpkin per person. This event is free to the public, but space is limited and registration is required via the City’s ActiveNet site.

Swim attire is required for those who would like to participate in the in-water pool activities. Individuals who are not potty trained must wear swim diapers. Participants ages 10 and younger must always be within arm’s reach of a parent/guardian while in the water.

A ratio of no more than two children to one parent/guardian will be enforced in the water. Participants ages 11-15 must always be accompanied by a parent/guardian while in the facility.
