Firearms Related Arrests Made By UCLA PD

WESTWOOD—On February 3, the UCLA PD announced on their Facebook page that over the weekend they made two firearms-related arrests.

-The first arrest occurred across from Gayley Heights, where officers took a suspect into custody.

-The second armed suspect was detained after officers proactively intervened to investigate a scooter theft.

None of the suspects arrested were affiliated with UCLA. Details about the suspects have not been disclosed to the public.  Authorities are asking anyone who sees something suspicious to report it immediately to UCLAPD at (310) 825-1491.

Convicted Felon Arrested With Firearm

WESTWOOD—On Sunday, January 5, the UCLA PD announced that a convicted felon was arrested. Authorities reported that while patrolling near campus, officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered the driver didn’t have a valid license and had an outstanding warrant.

During an inventory of the vehicle, they found a loaded handgun and extra ammunition in a backpack. The firearm was reported stolen, and the driver, a convicted felon was prohibited from owning firearms, and he was taken into custody.

The arrestee was transported to LA County Jail. Details about the felon has not yet been disclosed to the public.

Gang Member Arrested With Firearm In Possession

WESTWOOD—On Saturday, January 4, the UCLA Police Department disclosed that a gang-member was arrested with a firearm in possession. UCPD patrols both on and off campus to ensure the safety of the community. Officers patrolling near UCLA-owned apartment buildings in the Palms area conducted a traffic stop.

They spotted a marijuana cigarette and obtained consent from the driver to search their vehicle. The driver, a self-identified gang member, was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The suspect has a criminal history of weapons-related arrests. No additional details about the suspect has been disclosed to the public.

LASD Searching For Suspects Who Stole English Bulldog

WEST HOLLYWOOD—The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department are searching for the suspects involved in the armed robbery of a dog on Monday, November 6.

Deputies with the LASD indicated that at 11:38 p.m. a robbery occurred on the 1100 block of Olive Drive. Two suspects exited a newer model black Jeep compass, pointed a firearm at the victim, and robbed him of his English bulldog.

The two suspects entered the black Jeep Compass and fled the location at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was last seen traveling Northbound on Olive Drive towards Fountain Avenue.

There is no additional information available at this time.
