Biden Out, Newsom In; Republican Fear of Californication of America and Democrat Fear of Republican Dictatorship the Cause

LOS ANGELES—April 15, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — In his March 29, 2024 Political Manifesto, Voting In The Age of Chaos, U.S. Congressional Candidate, Larry Thompson (R), predicts the Democrat elite will persuade President Joe Biden to gracefully step aside and allow their shadow candidate, Governor Gavin Newsom, to receive the Democratic Presidential Nomination.

“The 2024 Presidential Election will be the feared Democratic Californication of America versus the assumed Republican Dictatorship of former President, Donald J. Trump,” claims Thompson.

He defines this political scenario plus “sky-high food prices, gas prices, housing prices, escalating inflation, unemployment, higher taxes, border crisis, fentanyl, indoctrination of children, loss of parental rights, uncertain reproductive rights, rampant crime, the growing homeless, devaluation and government digital replacement of the U.S. dollar, plus a brazen Russia, brave Ukraine, threatening China, aggressive Iran, Anti-Semitism on the move, and sleep walking into a World War as THE AGE OF CHAOS.”

And in this Age of Chaos where “Republicans think Democrats are foolish and naïve and Democrats believe Republicans are evil and selfish,” Thompson predicts “we are one Presidential Election away from a Civil War.

“I predict we are one Presidential Election away from a Civil War.”

VOTING IN THE AGE OF CHAOS – 03-29-24 – Revised For Website (fliphtml5.com)

“While some pundits are already suggesting we are in a cold Civil War now, my prediction,” Thompson adds, “goes way beyond that. I foresee an all-out breakdown in communication between the political parties with a call to action or blind eye to citizens taking the disagreements to the streets with a mob mentality.

“The losers of the election will start the war; the winners will ultimately end it, as they will control the military might of the United State Government. This civil war will not be North versus South. It will basically be Blue versus Red. Democrats versus Republicans.”

These are very strong and controversial words coming from a Congressional Candidate who is unanimously endorsed by the California Republican Party. Not to mention his additional endorsements from the Los Angeles County Republican Party, The Ventura County Republican Party, The American Independent Party, The California Young Republicans, The Los Angeles County Young Republicans, The California College Republicans, Brock Pierce, Chairman of The Bitcoin Foundation, and Perianne Boring, Founder and CEO of the Chamber of Digital Commerce. www.LarryThompsonForCongress.com

When asked how he plans to defeat his 14-term incumbent opponent, Brad Sherman (D), Thompson quips. “Oh, I will definitely beat “long time sleeping at the wheel, Sherman,” I’m just glad Taylor Swift isn’t running.

“Seriously, I am finally the right congressional candidate at the right historical time for California Congress CA 32. I ask Republicans, Democrats, and the Politically Homeless to Vote For Me.

“Pray that with Common Sense and Common Civility we all find Common Ground to solve our Common Issues AND AVOID A CIVIL WAR.”

Los Angeles High Rise Vandalized and Graffitied

February 1, 2024 ·

LOS ANGELES–Taggers have graffitied what appears to be more than 25 stories of a Downtown Los Angeles skyscraper that’s been sitting dormant for several years on Tuesday, January 30.

Construction on Oceanwide Plaza, a $1 billion mixed-use retail and luxury apartments project with three towering unfinished structures, stalled in January 2019 after the Beijing-based developer lacked the funds to complete it.

It is unclear exactly how those responsible for the graffiti covering much of the building’s exterior gained entry to the site, or when they began their daring and illegal project. “The measures will be implemented immediately, and the graffiti will be removed,” the LAPD said.

The project is across the street from the Crypto.com Arena, which is the home of the Los Angeles Lakers. Also, near the now-tagged tower is the entertainment area LA Live.

The Oceanwide Plaza project was to have two 40-story towers, according to its website.

Construction stopped in 2019 amid questions about whether the company had the funds to continue, the Los Angeles Times reported at the time.

A possible foreclosure was blocked by a state court of appeals in August, real estate publication The Real Deal reported.

It’s far from the first project in Los Angeles to become a target for attention-grabbing graffiti.

The brand-new 6th Street Viaduct in downtown, which cost $588 million, was spray-painted by vandals after it opened in July of 2022. Street racing and takeovers also prompted the periodic closure of the bridge shortly after it opened.

Endeavour Reaches Exposition Park

January 30, 2024 ·

LOS ANGELES–Space Shuttle Endeavour completed its mission, it now stands upright as if it were blasting off to space at this moment, inspiring future generations of young explorers. The space shuttle Endeavour made its final flight Monday evening, as California Science Center crews hoisted the retired orbiter into the air over Exposition Park so it can be lowered into place in a one-of-a-kind launch-ready vertical display.

The shuttle, previously part of a horizontal display at the Science Center in Exposition Park, was hoisted into the air and gently nestled into launch-ready position alongside two booster rockets and an external fuel tank, adding the final piece to a one-of-a-kind exhibit at the California Science Center.

Before the heavy lift, Endeavour was fitted with a sling-type device attached to the crane. Two tuning-fork shaped devices acted as a lifting sling, one at the front and one at the back of the shuttle. Two cranes then hoisted the lifting sling and shuttle into the air.

Endeavour, which made its last space flight 13 years ago and has been on display horizontally at the Science Center for more than a decade, was slowly moved Friday from its previous pavilion to a new position next to the under-construction Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center.

“Very slowly, we will lower the back part of the shuttle, remove the back crane, and then we’ll have the entire shuttle on one cable point,” said curator Dr. Kenneth Phillips. “We’ll lift it over and attach it to the waiting external tank.”

The highly technical move continued for several hours.

Endeavour’s final flight comes 13 years after its retirement. The Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center will nearly double the Science Center’s educational exhibition space and include three multi-level galleries, themed for air, space and shuttle.

Endeavour had been on display horizontally at the Science Center for more than a decade after its spectacular arrival in Los Angeles on the back of an airliner. When the project is complete, Endeavour will be the only launch-ready display of a former NASA space shuttle in the world.

The “Go for Stack” assembly began in July with installation of the bottom segments of the side boosters, known as aft skirts, for the first time outside of a NASA facility. In use, the boosters would be attached to the external tank to help the shuttle’s main engines lift off.

Opening date for the $400 million center has not yet been determined.

Endeavour flew 25 missions between 1992 and 2011, when NASA’s shuttle program ended.

What a phenomenal legacy right here in our own backyard.

U.S. Congressional Candidate, Larry Thompson, Hits The Political Bitcoin Jackpot

January 24, 2024 ·

LOS ANGELES—Jan. 22, 2024 PRNewswire/ — On January 10, 2024, the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) gave official approval to 11 Financial Institutions to create a “spot bitcoin ETF” (Exchange-Traded Fund). This long-awaited and controversial government approval basically allows these 11 Financial Institutions to now offer to the public the opportunity to buy “bitcoin” easily and safely as if it were simply a stock in a mutual fund on the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, or Chicago Board of Trade, instead of investors still having to figure out how to buy it on a “Crypto Exchange” (e.g. Coinbase) as a “mysterious” and “dangerous” cryptocurrency.

This approval is recognized worldwide as the biggest event in the history of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. It finally adds legitimacy to Bitcoin as an Asset Class, and it has opened a floodgate of new investors causing the price of bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies in general to ultimately increase substantially.  Bitcoin has gone mainstream.

So, how does this financial world news impact the highly contested U.S. Congressional Race CA 32 in Los Angeles, California? Well, in addition to Californians now being able to buy bitcoin easily just like every other person in the United States, it also shines a bright light on long-time, crypto-hater Rep. Brad Sherman (D) of CA 32, who has been (and still is today) the biggest opponent of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in Washington, D.C., calling them a “Garden of Snakes for investors who are thieves, felons, drug dealers, money launderers, sex traffickers, and those attempting to evade taxes.”

Sherman, who serves on the House Committee on Financial Services and is the Chair of the Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship, and Capital Markets, has been fighting for over 15 years to not regulate or even ban bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, but to “outlaw” them. Sherman is supported by big banks and financial institutions.

Larry Thompson, veteran entertainment attorney, acclaimed talent manager and film producer, plus long-time crypto advocate and investor is strongly challenging Sherman and has received the very valuable, unanimous endorsement of the California Republican Party.

Thompson also received this past week the additional endorsements of both Brock Pierce and Perianne Boring.

Pierce is the Chairman of The Bitcoin Foundation, the longest established Bitcoin advocacy organization in the world.   He is also a Venture Philanthropist who has been credited with pioneering the market for digital currency and has raised more than $5B for companies he has founded. “You’ve supported this community and industry,” says Pierce to Thompson,  “long before you chose to run for office. I would hope that a lot of people see you as the tip of the spear, and an agent of change to help enable the future where we can have regulatory clarity and certainty, where America can stay the capital of innovation.  Thank you for stepping up in this very important race.”

Perianne Boring is Founder and CEO of the Chamber of Digital Commerce, which is the world’s largest trade association representing the blockchain industry. When offering from Washington her endorsement to Thompson she claimed enthusiastically,  “count me in.”

So, what is it about Thompson that is giving such new hope and excitement to the California GOP and the world crypto community?

Thompson believes “traditional banking institutions are flawed, and technology, cryptos, and Bitcoin, can help advance our financial futures.” He advocates that “technology is amoral; it knows not right from wrong; it can be used for good or bad depending on the user. We should carefully move into the future with it and not try, as Sherman has, to put the technology genie back in the bottle.

“New forward-thinking leaders with Common Sense will now bring back national pride and ‘sanity.’  I want everyone to stop, think, and simply use Common Sense with Common Civility to find Common Ground to solve our Common Issues. Let’s start a fresh, bipartisan conversation to finally end the fighting, regain our ‘sanity,’ and get something done. I’m the ‘Sanity Man.”

“I am also running for Congress to awaken, organize, and lead the silenced, conservative Republican and dissatisfied Democratic voters.  No longer should they feel alone, confused, defeated, and scared. I offer them an opportunity to regain their courage, stand up, rethink their long-held beliefs, and join me and those who share their values and vision of our country. This used to be Reagan Country, and I’m running to take it back for him.”

Even with such lofty ideals, Thompson’s election won’t be easy as Sherman, his main Democratic opponent, is a 14-term incumbent.  He is serving his first term in CA 32 simply because of redistricting. California’s 32nd district now takes in Bel-Air, Bell Canyon, Beverly Glen, Brentwood, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Encino, Malibu, North Hills, Northridge, Pacific Palisades, Reseda, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Tarzana, Topanga, West Hills, Winnetka, and Woodland Hills.

When asked about his chances in the race, Thompson quips, “Oh, I will definitely beat Mr. Sleeping-At-The-Wheel, Brad Sherman.  I’m just glad Taylor Swift isn’t running.”

On Bidenomics, he added that he agrees with TV personality, Greg Gutfeld, that “the $100 bill has become the new $20 bill.”

“Seriously,” he added, “the polarized political positions in our nation have become dangerous in many ways, and, with all that is going on in this world today, there is much disenchantment, disappointment, frustration, and even fear with many Democratic and Republican voters.  I intend to bridge this gap of uncertainty and offer a new menu of ideas to the Republican and long-standing Democratic voters.

“Our CA 32 citizens must deal every day with open borders, and closed minds; sky-high taxes, and low confidence in government; not to mention potholes on Ventura Boulevard and Topanga Canyon Boulevard, plus the traffic and safety issues on Pacific Coast Highway.

“I have been a ‘Representative’ of Hollywood Talent for over 50 years,” said Thompson. “And I have spent a career as either a lawyer or a personal manager listening, caring, nurturing, planning, and negotiating, to enhance their personas and lives. I now want to be a ‘Representative’ of the people, especially those who live in our California 32nd District.”

As a long-time, active Republican, Thompson was a Republican Eagle in 1981, ’82, and ’83, which required a donation to the Republican National Committee of a minimum of $10,000 per year.

He was the recipient of the Republican Presidential Taskforce’s Medal of Merit presented to him by President Ronald Reagan in 1981 and was the personal Talent Manager for President Ronald Reagan’s daughter, Patti Davis from 1982 to 1986.

He co-wrote speeches and prepared President Gerald Ford personally for his Republican National Convention address in 1976 and employed President Gerald Ford’s Daughter, Susan Ford, to costar on the Jim Nabor’s Show, which Thompson produced in 1978.

Thompson was the California Campaign Co-Chairman for Senator Bob Dole’s Presidential Campaign in 1996.

He ran for U.S. Congress CA 37 as an Independent in 2020.  Karen Bass, the current mayor of Los Angeles, won.

July 19, 2023 ·

LOS ANGELES—On Wednesday, July 19, at approximately 12:00 a.m., a couple was approached at Chris and Eddy’s hamburger restaurant located at 5539 Sunset Boulevard, by a woman with her infant. She surrendered her baby over to the couple, indicating that she could no longer care for the infant.

The couple the infant was surrendered to, then brought the baby to the Beverly Hills Police Department who indicated that this was technically out of their jurisdiction. The infant appeared to be approximately one month old.

According to California law, parents and legal guardians may confidentially surrender an infant less than three days old to any hospital/emergency room/fire station.

If the baby/child(ren) have not been abused/neglected/traumatized, the parent or allocated guardian may surrender the baby without fear of arrest or prosecution for child abandonment.

Canyon News reached out to the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) for a statement and more information. The Acting Public Information Officer, Sergeant Jeff Newman, have not heard back in time for print.
