Cindy Gordon, New Assistant Director Of Community Development/City Planner

BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills informed Canyon News via email that after a nationwide recruitment, the city selected Cindy Gordon to serve as the next Assistant Director of Community Development/City Planner. Gordon currently serves as Project Manager in the City’s Community Development Department.

“I am thrilled that Cindy will be our next City Planner,” said Michael Forbes, the City’s Community Development Director. “She is deeply respected by her team as a strong technical planner and leader. Her diverse experience and institutional knowledge will continue to be of great benefit to our community.”

Gordon joined Beverly Hills in 2011 as an Assistant Planner and was promoted through the years to Associate Planner, Senior Planner, Principal Planner, and Project Manager.

She has two bachelor’s degrees, in Community & Regional Planning and Sociology, from Iowa State University, and a master’s degree in city & Regional Planning from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Gordon is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners. Her new role will start on Monday, December 15.
