Samuel Sarmiento Arrested For Grand Theft Auto

BEVERLY HILLS—On December 29, Samuel, Sarmiento, 28, of Cadahy was arrested by Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD). According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Inmate Roster, Sarmiento was booked into Men’s Central Jail on felony charges on charges of Grand Theft Auto, Assault on a police officer, and evading arrest.

Sarmiento is described as being a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes. He stands five feet seven inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. His bail amount has been set at $175,000. A sentencing date has been set for January 14, 2025.

First reports by BHPD Lt. Kevin Orth indicate that Sarmiento stole a vehicle in Beverly Hills. The city’s surveillance camera captured footage of the suspect as he exited city limits. He thn returned to Beverly Hills and abandoned the stolen vehicle in the 600 block of North Palm Drive.

BHPD officers located the vehicle, searched the area, and arrested Sarmiento the same day the vehicle was stolen.

Sarmiento has an extensive criminal history. On January 14, 2024, he was arrested on misdemeanor charges, given a citation, and released the same day.

On July 31, 2022, Sarmiento was arrested on felony charges by the Los Angeles County Police Department (LAPD) Southeast Division, and booked into the 77th Street Jail without bail. Reports indicate Sarmiento was released from jail on July 7, 2023.
