SANTA MONICA—On Monday, December 29 and Tuesday, December 30, Southern California will be impacted by moderate to strong Santa Ana winds. Once those subside, rain is expected to return to the area on Wednesday, December 31.

The weather conditions pose no fire danger, but parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, can see winds reach 35-55 mph.  The potential for winds to knock down power lines and cause power outages is possible.

The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning until 3 p.m. for the Interstate 5 Corridor.  The area includes the Western San Gabriel Mountains and Santa Susana Mountains.  A high wind warning has been issued for the Highway 14 Corridor and the Western Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area. All winds are expected to subside on Tuesday, December 30.
