MALIBU—On Tuesday, December 16, the city of Malibu posted on its Facebook page that free holiday tree recycling will start on Friday, December 26, 2025 thru January 11, 2026 at 23575 Civic Center Way (Chili Cook-off lot). All collected trees will be recycled into mulch.

Hours:
• Mon – Fri: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Sat & Sun: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Closed December 31 – January 1 in observance of the New Year’s holiday.

Recycling trees keeps them out of landfills, where it would otherwise produce greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. This program supports the City’s commitment to protecting the environment and creating a more sustainable community.

Please remove before recycling:
• Water containers
• Metal stands
• Ornaments, tinsel & lights

Curbside option: Cut the tree to fit in your green waste bin and remove all decorations, especially metal.
