MALIBU—The city of Malibu announced on its Facebook page on Monday, September 8, that there will be a blood drive held at Malibu City Hall on September 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is in collaboration with American Red Cross at City Hall (located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road). The Red Cross reports it is experiencing an extreme blood shortage, so blood donations are needed even more badly.

It is needed every day for surgeries, emergencies, regular medical procedures, as well as for major emergencies such as earthquakes, hurricanes, shootings or terrorist attacks. Participants are asked to register in advance at https://www.redcrossblood.org/ and enter sponsor code “CityofMalibu.”

For more details, call 818-200-3445. Bring a photo ID, drink plenty of water and eat well before and after giving blood.
