LAFD Rescue Male From Tree Canopy

HOLLYWOOD HILLS—On Sunday, June 1, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported a tree rescue of a male.

The incident was reported at 2:13 p.m. at N. Mt. Olympus Drive. Officials were originally called in as a non-specific Engine response, firefighters located an approximately 30 year-old male stuck in a tree canopy, about 20 feet above the ground, in medical distress.

The incident was upgraded and LAFD Urban Search and Rescue trained firefighters conducted a rescue operation, safely extricating the patient from the trees using a rope system and the aerial ladder.

The patient was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. No additional details were disclosed about the incident which concluded at 4:06 p.m.
