WOODLAND HILLS—On January 2, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Valley Traffic Division issued a press release requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the driver in a hit-and-run accident that left a 72-year-old female severely injured.

On November 24th at approximately 6:40 p.m., a vehicle was traveling southbound on Fallbrook Avenue at Victory Boulevard and struck a pedestrian crossing the street.

The suspect failed to stop, identify him/herself, or render aid to the victim. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the critically injured woman to an area hospital for treatment.

The car the suspect was driving was described as being an older, dark-colored sedan, similar to a 2010-2013 model of the Honda Civic.

The following came directly from the LAPD press release.

“On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact Valley Traffic Detective Ramirez, at 818-644-8025. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247). Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477) or go directly to www.lacrimestoppers.org. Lastly, tipsters may also download the “P3 Tips” mobile application and select the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers as their local program.”
