WEST HOLLYWOOD—On Saturday, March 21, around 6:15 p.m., a brawl occurred in a bar located in the 500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood.

According to the reporting of KTLA, the inciting incident was alcohol being thrown at the face of a victim.  Afterwards, the individual and another victim were told to leave the bar after they started fighting. They suffered wounds to their head, as well as to the face.

Outside the bar, the brawl continued involving four to six people, who went down Santa Monica Boulevard while fighting. Two restaurants they passed included Micky’s and Fiesta Cantina.  Some of the men involved in the brawl were wearing blue jerseys numbered 93.

The brawl was captured on a cellphone camera of a bar customer that the WeHo Times has released online. No arrests have been made in the incident.

The names of the victims have not been released by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, but what is known is that the victims refused medical assistance.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department West Hollywood Station is requesting anyone with information about the brawl to contact them.

SANTA MONICA—The city of Santa Monica announced on its Facebook page on Monday, October 28 that they are asking for the public’s feedback on experiences related to roadway safety, speeding and congestion to inform the Santa Monica Boulevard Safety Study.

The goal is to make the road safer and more accessible for everyone—whether walking, rolling, driving or taking transit.

WEST HOLLYWOOD—The International House of Pancakes location in West Hollywood at 8461 Santa Monica Boulevard has officially closed its doors. The IHOP is permanently closing its doors and posted a message on its door that read: “Closing at 1pm New Year’s Day. Thank you.”

KTLA news reported that a voice message directed customers to the IHOP location in Hollywood located at 7006 Sunset Boulevard. The voice mail stated: “Dear valued customer. Apologies for any inconvenience. Our West Hollywood IHOP is closed.”

Other IHOP locations in the region include the Hollywood Hills location at 5655 Wilshire Boulevard and the establishment in North Hollywood at 6343 Laurel Canyon Boulevard. The Hollywood Hills location posts the following message on its website:

“As you make your way down Masselin Ave or Hauser Blvd, take a break and dine in at your local IHOP restaurant! Our menu is full of variety and ready for you any time of day. For breakfast lovers, we’ve got stacks of world-famous IHOP Pancakes and an array of delicious freshly made Omelettes, or you can dive into our newest breakfast items and try our tasty Eggs Benedicts or our Sweet and Savory Crepes.”

HOLLYWOOD HILLS – On Monday, August 21, the Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Police Department West Hollywood Division officers responded to a water main break at 1300 North Ogden Drive and West Fountain Avenue, Citizen app reported.

At approximately 6:06 p.m., LAFD and LAPD arrived on scene and discovered water flowing down the street, reportedly reaching all the way to Santa Monica Boulevard. Fountain Avenue was reportedly shut down in both directions at Ogden Drive. The intersection at Fountain and Ogden appeared to be concaving in. 

Fountain avenue will reportedly be shut down for days while LA City crews assess the situation and fix any damage. LAFD issued an alert to please avoid the area and expect traffic delays.

This incident occurred the day after Tropical Storm Hilary made landfall in Los Angeles. How the water main broke has not been disclosed.
