BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills announced on Wednesday, July 23 that the Beverly Hills Police Department recognized Motor Officer Guzman, who recently showcased his elite riding skills at the Fourth Annual Iron Horse Shoot Out held in Amarillo, Texas.

He competed against nearly 50 top riders from across the country, with Officer Guzman securing five 1st Place finishes, sweeping several of the event’s most prestigious categories.

Those victories included:

1st Place – Challenge Ride
1st Place – 4-Man Team Ride
1st Place – Metric Expert Division
1st Place – Overall Team
1st Place – All-Around Champion (Police Division)

Officer Guzman participated in 16 Motor Rodeos since March 2024 and already competed in seven competitions in 2025, consistently performing at the top level in one of the most competitive seasons to date.

The Police Department promotes officer readiness, precision riding, and critical handling skills that translate to real-world public safety on Beverly Hills roadways.

BEVERLY HILLS—On March 21, the Beverly Hills Police Department informed Canyon News via email that Police Motor Officer Guzman took top honors at the 2nd Annual Bakersfield Police Motors Competition. The event was held from March 14 through March 15.

Officer Guzman competed against 40 skilled motor officers from across California. He demonstrated exceptional skill and precision, earning:

– 1st Place in the BMW Expert Division
– 2nd Place in the Slow Ride Challenge

The competition tested riders in a series of rigorous courses designed to evaluate their technical proficiency, control, and maneuverability in high-pressure environments. Motor Officer Guzman’s victories underscore the Police Department’s commitment to excellence in training and motor safety.

“Motor Officer Guzman’s performance exemplifies the skill, discipline, and dedication of our Motor Unit,” said Chief Mark G. Stainbrook. “These competitions sharpen the abilities that keep our roads safer every day. We are incredibly proud of his achievement.”

BEVERLY HILLS—On Friday, June 14, the Beverly Hills Police Department indicated in a news release that Motor Officer Guzman was awarded at the High Sierra Motorcycle Competition held in Reno, Nevada, from June 6 to June 8. The competition, which drew 36 of the finest police riders from Nevada, California, and Canada, showcased Officer Guzman’s exceptional riding skills and dedication.

Competing in the highly competitive BMW Metric Division A-Class, Officer Guzman secured a third place, demonstrating his abilities and commitment to excellence. In a remarkable display of teamwork and precision, Officer Guzman, alongside San Joaquin Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Grant, clinched first place in the Two-Man Tethered Ride.

California motor officers swept the BMW Metric Division A-Class, claiming the top three positions. Officer Guzman was the “only motor officer representing Southern California, making his achievements even more commendable,” the BHPD stated.

“The Beverly Hills Police Department congratulates Motor Officer Guzman on his remarkable success and looks forward to his continued contributions to the Department and the community,” the BHPD added.

BEVERLY HILLS—On Tuesday, March 19, Public Information Officer for the Beverly Hills Police Department, Lt. Myers informed Canyon News via email that Officer Guzman of the Police Department earned an award after his participation in the Motor Officer Skills Competition on March 16.

The event was held in Bakersfield and involved 30 Motor Officers from various law enforcement agencies. Participating agencies included the Bakersfield Police Department, California Highway PatrolBakersfield Office, Daly City Police Department, San Jose Police Department, San Francisco Police Department, and the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The Motorcycle Skills Competition, designed to foster training and safety among Police Motorcycle Officers, serves as a platform for supporting organizations focused on law enforcement officers and their families via charitable donations.

Officers participated in a challenging course while benefiting from cross-departmental learning and friendly competition. The course featured intricate patterns, including replicas of the Bakersfield Police Department emblem, requiring precise maneuvering to navigate without error.

Utilizing various motorcycle models, such as the BMW 1200RT-P and Harley Davidson Police Electra Glides, participants showcased their skills. At the end of the event, accolades were awarded to top performers in both the Harley Davidson and BMW categories.

Officer Guzman of the Beverly Hills Police Department distinguished himself at the 2024 Bakersfield Police Department Motors Competition, clinching first place in the BMW Metric Division.

“His remarkable achievement amidst fierce competition underscores his dedication to training and preparation, embodying the highest standards of police motorcycle officers,” the BHPD said in a statement.
