‘Beverly Hills Day Of Wellness’ On September 14

BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills will host the third annual Beverly Hills Day of Wellness on Sunday, September 14. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Roxbury Park and Community Center located at 471 S. Roxbury Drive.

Beverly Hills Day of Wellness prioritizes self-care and focuses on physical and mental well-being. There are over 30 free classes and workshops to choose from with hands-on experiences exploring aspects of mental, physical, and emotional well-being. All participants should bring their own water, towel and mat to the event.

There will be close to 50 booths with experts sharing their knowledge in areas of nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, mental health, wellness strategies, and more.

There will also be a blood drive onsite to allow volunteers to register in advance. Food trucks with items available for purchase include: Go Beyond the Bowl, Acai Me More and Creamy Boys Ice Cream.

Parking is available at Roxbury Park and Community Center but may be limited due to event crowd. Additional parking is available at Beverly Hills High School located at 241 S. Moreno Drive (Entrance off S. Moreno Drive & Durant Drive). A shuttle will run between Beverly Hills High School and Roxbury Park from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Beverly Hills Day of Wellness is presented in partnership with the city’s Community Services Department, the Human Relations Commission, the Recreation and Parks Commission and the Health and Safety Commission. Free CERT Training Starts September 16 In Malibu

MALIBU—The city of Malibu announced that sign up for the upcoming free Community Emergency Response Team training will begin on September 16 at Malibu City Hall.

The training helps individuals learn how to prepare yourself, family or one’s business for wildfires, earthquakes & other disasters.

As part of its ongoing efforts toward community-wide preparedness, the city of Malibu is offering the next round of the highly popular Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training. The series of classes will be held on Tuesday evenings starting on September 16, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Malibu Library, along with the final class being on October 25, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Malibu City Hall.

The free training program is administered by the city and other public safety agencies across the country and empowers community members to help themselves and their neighbors during disasters.

With hands-on training, participants learn the most up-to-date information on basic disaster preparedness, the use of a fire extinguisher, disaster medical care, first aid, search and rescue, disaster psychology, and neighborhood team building.
