BEVERLY HILLS—On Sunday, January 11, the city of Beverly Hills will be hosting a FREE shredding and composting event. Participants can shred sensitive documents, recycle old electronics, and help the Earth at the same time.

The event will transpire at Civic Center Drive and 3rd Street from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or until the truck is full).

E-Waste disposal will also be available at the Beverly Hills Farmer’s Market, so it’s a one-stop shop for all your recycling needs!

WEST HOLLYWOOD—The city of West Hollywood announced that there will be a free document shredding and E-Waste collection event on Saturday, July 19.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 355 N. San Vicente Blvd at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center employee parking lot. The event is drive-through only. All shredding will be confidential, and household hazardous waste is for (residents only).

All e-waste, hazardous household waste and documents must be in the trunk prior to arrival. All paperclips/paper clamps/spiral-bindings notebooks/3-ringed notebooks must not be included in documents to be shredded.

E-waste will be handled by certified electronics recycler, Homeboy Recycling, that protects the planet and keeps data safe while creating jobs for people in the region facing serious barriers to employment. All electronics are accepted, with the exception of large appliances and thermostats.

BEVERLY HILLS—On Monday, September 16, the city of Beverly Hills posted on its Facebook page that it will be holding a free drive-thru household hazardous and e-waste collection event on Saturday, September 28.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at West 3rd Street between Foothill Rd. & Civic Center Dr. The event will allow residents the opportunity to safely dispose of old batteries, electronics, paints and more items.

Hazardous Waste Collection Events, operated by the County and Sanitation Districts, are one-day, drive-through collection events where residents are invited to drive to a specific location to drop off their household hazardous waste and electronic waste (e-waste). There is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste per trip.

Toxic chemicals typically found in a household:
-Oven cleaner
-Pool supplies
-Used motor oil
-Oil paint products

Do not place any of these unused items or other toxic chemicals into any container. Only empty toxic containers (with lids removed) are to be placed with your trash.

To properly and safely dispose of hazardous waste, call the Los Angeles County Hazardous Waste Roundup Hotline: (800) 552-5218 or City of Los Angeles (800) 98-TOXIC or attend a county sponsored round-up.

Community members are invited to bring confidential files and unwanted electronics, including hard drives, and household hazardous waste for shredding and recycling. The hazardous household waste collection is for residents only.

The free event will take place on Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center employee parking lot, located at 355 N. San Vicente Boulevard. This is a drive-through event.

All e-waste, hazardous household waste and documents must be in the trunk prior to arrival. Paperclips, paper clamps, spiral bound notebooks, ringed notebooks must not be included in documents to be shredded.
