Household Hazardous Waste And E-Waste Collection April 18

MALIBU—The city of Malibu announced on its Facebook page that it will host a Household Hazardous Waste & E-Waste Collection and documenting shredding event.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Malibu City Hall located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Upper Parking Lot.

Individuals will be able to safely dispose of automotive and household batteries, anti-freeze, ink cartridges, oil filters, unbroken light bulbs, used motor oil (15 gallons max), water-based and latex paint (15 gallons max).

Electronic waste that will be accepted include cable boxes, cameras, cell phones, desktops and laptops, keyboard and mouse, printers and copiers, mixed plastic/metal/wire, monitors, including TVs, office/home phones, tablets, video/audio equipment and video game systems.

Document shredding will also be available, which includes checkbooks, credit card statements, insurance information, investment records, legal files, medical information, pay stubs, receipts and invoices, tax forms and bank statements, utility bills (max of 5 boxes or 13-gallon bags per household.

Free Document Shredding On July 19

WEST HOLLYWOOD—The city of West Hollywood announced that there will be a free document shredding and E-Waste collection event on Saturday, July 19.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 355 N. San Vicente Blvd at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center employee parking lot. The event is drive-through only. All shredding will be confidential, and household hazardous waste is for (residents only).

All e-waste, hazardous household waste and documents must be in the trunk prior to arrival. All paperclips/paper clamps/spiral-bindings notebooks/3-ringed notebooks must not be included in documents to be shredded.

E-waste will be handled by certified electronics recycler, Homeboy Recycling, that protects the planet and keeps data safe while creating jobs for people in the region facing serious barriers to employment. All electronics are accepted, with the exception of large appliances and thermostats.

City Hosting Free Document Shredding At Waste Collection Event

WEST HOLLYWOOD—The city will host a free document shredding, electronic and hazardous household waste collection event for residents and businesses. Community members are invited to bring confidential files and unwanted electronics, including hard drives, and household hazardous waste for shredding and recycling. The hazardous household waste collection is for residents only.

The city of West Hollywood indicated on its website that the free event will take place on Saturday, July 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center employee parking lot, located at 355 N. San Vicente Boulevard. This is a drive-through event. All e-waste, hazardous household waste and documents must be in the trunk prior to arrival.

E-waste will be handled by certified electronics recycler, Homeboy Recycling, in a way that protects the planet and keeps data safe while creating jobs for people in the region facing serious barriers to employment.
