Individual Rescued From Overturned Vehicle

MALIBU—On Sunday, November 2, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Malibu Search and Rescue Team announced that at 7:30 a.m. rescuers from LA County Fire, California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, McCormick Ambulance and California State Park Rangers responded to a vehicle over the side on Malibu Canyon.

Rescuers determined there was one patient, a female in her 30s. After extrication, the victim was flown by Los Angeles County Fire Copter 21 to a local trauma center for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. No additional details about the incident or cause of the crash have been disclosed to the public.

Golfcart Crashes On Grayfox Street

MALIBU—On Monday, August 11, the Malibu Volunteers on Patrol posted on its Facebook page that a golfcart crashed into a building in Malibu.

The incident was reported at 2:20 p.m., when a Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station “Volunteer on Patrol” came across a golf cart that crashed into a fence along Grayfox Street.

The vehicle was seemingly abandoned and after checking the area for any injured parties, the VOP was unable to find any sign of a driver or passengers.

The VOP advised Station Dispatch and a deputy responded to further investigate. The golf cart was subsequently towed.

The investigation is ongoing to locate the owner and determine who was driving at the time of the accident. Anyone who is missing a golf cart, should contact the Malibu Lost Hills Station.

One Person Killed After Vehicle Collides Into Building

LOS FELIZ—On Wednesday, January 15, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported that one person was killed after a vehicle crashed into a building.

The incident was reported at 1:38 a.m. at 1826 N Western Avenue. Officials arrived to find one vehicle into a two-story apartment building with a total of three patients.

Two patients were trapped under the vehicle (in the apartment unit) and required extrication: approximately a 50-year-old male patient was determined deceased on scene, 9-year-old male patient transported in serious condition. The name of the victim has not yet been disclosed to the public.

A 34-year-old female patient (driver) was transported with minor injuries. There are a total of seven displaced occupants. Red Cross and Mayor’s Crisis Response Team notified to provide help.

LA Dept of Building and Safety will determine whether the building is safe for occupation. No further details about the incident or the cause has been disclosed to the public.

Auto Rollover In Pacific Palisades

PACIFIC PALISADES—The Los Angeles Fire Department reported on Tuesday, May 21, that an auto rollover transpired at 5:49 p.m. at 17010 W. Sunset Blvd. Firefighters were on scene of a rollover crash involving a structure. No patients were trapped during the incident.

Crews found one overturned vehicle, which came to rest against a two-story apartment building. Firefighters provided medical assessment and ongoing care enroute to the hospital for three patients (two in serious condition and one person in moderate condition).

Three others were in good-to-fair condition and received an assessment and care on scene, but declined transportation to a hospital, the LAFD reported. There were no additional details on what caused the crash.

LAPD Officers Involved In Crash In Brentwood

BRENTWOOD—The Los Angeles Fire Department reported on Friday, May 17 officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were involved in a crash that left several officers injured.

The LAFD was alerted of the incident at 5:25 a.m. on the northbound 405 freeway. Firefighters arrived to a traffic accident involving LAPD officers who were in pursuit of a vehicle. This resulted in a vehicle crashing into parked vehicles and hitting a police car. Four total officers were injured with one being taken to an area hospital.

The incident expanded to the freeway where the van did go the wrong way and the pursuit ended with crashing into three vehicles on the freeway. No extrication was needed. One patient was transported to an area hospital.

One Person Killed In Two-Car Collision

SANTA MONICA—Two vehicles collided on Saturday, April 29 on Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica that resulted in one person being killed and nine others injured. The crash occurred at 3:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of PCH, near the California Incline, Santa Monica Police Lt. Erika Aklufi indicated.

“A Kia with six adults and two small children was northbound on PCH and attempting to turn left into Beach Lot Four North when it was T-boned by a southbound Toyota Camry with two adults,” said Lt. Aklufi.

All of the passengers were transported to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood. A passenger in the back of the Kia suffered a major leg injury and later died at the hospital. The name of the victim has not been disclosed to the public.

Authorities indicated the of the injuries were minor.

The Santa Monica Police Department shut down northbound lanes of PCH between the 900 and 1000 blocks of road, and the California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 4:50 p.m., shutting down the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway at Fourth Street.

Ashleigh Lawrence Identified As Victim In PCH Crash

PACIFIC PALISADES—Officials have identified the victim who died in a crash on Saturday, April 8, on Pacific Coast Highway. 

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, the victim has been identified as Ashleigh Lawrence, 32, of Los Angeles. 

On the day of the accident, firefighters were called to the 17400 block of West Sunset Boulevard at Palisades Drive at 12:45 a.m. Officials discovered Lawrence and pronounced her dead at the scene. 

Los Angeles Fire Department Spokesman Nicholas Prange explained that a 21-year-old driver was traveling south on PCH Saturday morning when he slammed into a group of pedestrians and vehicles parked on the shoulder overlooking the beach near Palisades Drive.

The collision sent two of the three vehicles into the rocks, hitting Lawrence. Another person was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition. Five others involved were in fair to moderate condition. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.  The name of the driver has not been disclosed to the public.
