LAFD Battle Electrical Issue In Beverly Grove

BEVERLY HILLS—On Monday, November 10, the Los Angeles Fire Department battled an electrical fire in Beverly Grove.

The fire was reported at 1:39 p.m. at 8701 Gracie Allen Drive. A large (approximately 1,000 pound) lithium-ion battery (from a motorized cart) was off-gassing on the “Plaza North Interstitial” (between 3rd floor and plaza level).

There is no fire problem at this time. Given the size and weight, firefighters are determining the safest option for getting the battery to the ground and outside for mitigation. There were no reported injuries or impact on the facility operations as a result.

LAFD Battle Structure Fire In Beverly Grove

BEVERLY HILLS—On Sunday, August 17, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported they battled a structure fire in Beverly Grove.

The fire was reported at 10:17 a.m. at 321 S San Vicente Blvd. Paramedics with the LAFD transported a 30-year-old female with serious burns to a local hospital.

A total of three occupants and a pet cat escaped the smoke-charged residence, reportedly following a microwave malfunction.

The LAFD Arson is investigating the cause of the fire. No additional details about the incident have been disclosed to the public.

Massage Spa Fire Extinguished In Beverly Grove

CALIFORNIA—The Los Angeles Fire Department battled a structure fire at a massage business on Tuesday, June 17 in the Beverly Grove area.

The incident was reported at 4:13 p.m. at 8217 W. Beverly Blvd. By 4:33 p.m. the fire was extinguished by 46 firefighters in 20 minutes.

The building is a split level, one story in the front with two stories in the back. The fire was lapping out the first story window up to the second floor at the rear of the building.

Firefighters conducted a transitional attack (applying water from the outside) to quickly knock back some of the fire while crews readied for an interior fire attack.

The fire was prevented from extending to the second floor or the attic. One patient is being evaluated for a minor burn injury. There were no other occupants located inside the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Structure Fire Extinguished In Beverly Grove

WEST HOLLYWOOD/BEVERLY HILLS—On Sunday, May 11, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported they extinguished a structure fire in Beverly Grove.

The incident was reported at 5:52 p.m. at 106 S Flores Street at a two-story garden-style apartment, where light smoke was showing from the first floor.

Firefighters proceeded in the offensive mode and knocked down the fire in one vacant unit in 23 minutes. Officials remained on scene for overhaul.

There were no reports of any injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Structure Fire Extinguished At Beverly Grove

WEST HOLLYWOOD/MELROSE—On Tuesday, October 8, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported a structure fire at 11:39 p.m. The fire was at 335 N Fairfax Avenue near Beverly Grove. It took 90 firefighters to extinguish the fire in 1 hour and 17 minutes.

There were no injuries reported during the incident. The two businesses were vacant. The exposed units were defended from damage. Per protocol, LAFD Arson is responding for the investigation. No further details about the incident have been disclosed to the public.

Shooting Near Beverly Center, One Deceased Two Injured

BEVERLY HILLS—A 17-year-old was killed and two other victims were injured in a shooting that occurred near the Beverly Center in the early hours of Sunday, July 9.

At approximately 3:50 a.m., Police responded to a radio call of an ambulance shooting near the intersection of 3rd Street and Orlando Avenue, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles Police Department.

The first victim discovered, a 17-year-old male identified as Zackary Dickson-Hislop of Los Angeles, and was declared deceased at the scene. The two other male victims, ages 17 and 26, were transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in stable condition.

Details on events leading up to the shooting have yet to be released. 

Detectives are seeking information on the suspect who has yet to be apprehended. He was last seen running southbound on Orlando Avenue from 3rd Street on foot.

Beverly Grove Murder Suspect Wanted By LAPD

WEST HOLLYWOOD/BEVERLY HILLS—The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Bureau Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect responsible for the death of a 17-year-old male and injuries to two other victims on Sunday, July 9.

The LAPD reported at 3:50 a.m., officers from the Wilshire Area responded to a call of an ambulance shooting at 3rd Street and Orlando Avenue. After arriving on the scene, officers found three victims who were shot. Victim 1, a 17-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department Personnel. Victim 2, a 17-year-old male, and Victim 3, a 26-year-old male, were taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, by Los Angeles Fire Department Personnel for medical treatment and are listed in stable condition. The name of the deceased has not been disclosed to the public.

Authorities have described the suspect as a Black male, who was last seen traveling southbound on Orlando Avenue from 3rd Street on foot.
