Malibu To Host Free NOAA Radio Training

MALIBU—On August 25, the city of Malibu announced that it is offering free NOAA Weather Radio Training. Malibu and the Los Angeles County Fire Department will conduct it on Monday, August 31. The event will take place at Malibu City Hall located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road.
There will be two sessions, running from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. During these sessions, citizens will learn how to use the radios to receive emergency alerts and weather warnings when they lose power, internet service, or phone service.
Firefighters will distribute free radios during the event. NOAA stands for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; a government agency whose mission includes providing weather forecasts and severe weather warnings to citizens.
