HOLLYWOOD HILLS—On Monday, September 8, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) deputies were called to the Tow Yard used by Hollywood Tow Service located at 1015 N. Mansfield Avenue due to a foul smell that was emitted from a 2023 Tesla. The Tesla had Texas plates and was registered to David Anthony Burke. He is the famous R and B singer that uses the stage name, “D4VD.” Police indicated that the Tesla was reported abandoned and towed from Hollywood Hills less than a week ago.
Upon further investigation, deputies found a decomposing body in a bag that was stuffed in the front trunk of the Tesla. The vehicle has been stored in the top tier of what is referred to as, The Police Garage at the tow yard.
The medical examiner responded to the location but was unable to determine much at the scene due to decomposition. It was later confirmed that the person was a woman with wavy black hair. TMZ first reported that she had a unique tattoo that said, “Shhh.”
Reports indicate that D4VD has been on tour since August 5th. He has not been identified as a suspect. He is a newer artist who became a overnight sensation of sorts as his music went viral on TikTok with hits like; “What Are You Waiting For,” “Take Me to The Sun,” “Sky,” “Backstreet Girl,” “Sleep Well,” and “Worthless.”
On Tuesday, September 9, a second body was discovered in a burned blue Honda Civic that was impounded in a separate tow yard located west of Western Avenue near Gage Street. There is no further information on the victims. There is no indication that these two cases are connected in any way.
