Robbery Suspect Arrested On UCLA Campus

WESTWOOD—On Tuesday, January 7, the UCLA Police Department disclosed on its Facebook page that officers responded to Engineering IV after a facilities worker reported being assaulted by a suspect.

When officers arrived, the suspect fled the region. During the investigation, it was reported the suspect committed a robbery, using fear to steal personal property and University supplies. There were no weapons involved.

Police officers located the suspect in the UCLA Structure 9 driveway. While being detained, the suspect threatened officers with serious harm, violating additional California laws. The suspect was positively identified by the victim and was arrested for trespassing, battery, robbery, and threatening police officers.

A University key was recovered from the suspect’s property. No additional details about the suspect has been disclosed to the public. Anyone who is the victim of a crime should contact UCLA PD immediately.
