November 13, 2023 ·

TOPANGA CANYON—Samuel Haskell IV, 35, the son of Hollywood producer and agent, Samuel Haskell III, has been arrested and charged after he was found dumping what appears to be a woman’s torso last week.

On November 9, the Los Angeles Police Department revealed they have identified and arrested a suspect for murder, in connection to the unidentified female torso found in the area of Ventura Boulevard and Rubio Avenue.

On November 8, around 6 a.m., an individual looking through dumpster bins found a bag containing a woman’s torso, prompting the police to be called. The identification of the torso is ongoing. The investigation provided detectives with information that led them to a residence in the 4100 block of Coldstream Terrace in the West Valley area.

The residence was forensically processed for evidence and detectives discovered that the location was the family residence where the suspect lived with his wife, Mei Lei Haskell, 37, his in-laws and three children. The children have been located and are been cared for by family members. Haskell’s wife and in-laws have not been located.

Samuel’s father has worked for high profile celebrities like Dolly Parton and Whoopi Goldberg.

Samuel Haskell Jr. was booked for 187 (a) PC-Murder and is currently being held on $2 million dollar bail.

Based on the nature of the incident, Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD) has assumed the investigation and is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Mei Li Haskell, Gaoshan Li, 71 and Yanxiang Want, 64.

Detectives are also looking for two missing vehicles (a white VW Tiguan, license 9ANC890, and a white 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, license 7FRM190).

According to reports, Haskell IV hired laborers to dump large bags in a dumpster a day before the women’s torso was discovered by a homeless man digging thru the trash in Tarzana.

According to the New York Post, Haskell IV was known to have a large cache of weapons in his home.

Haskell IV shot many films that have been posted on his Facebook and TikTok pages that include violence and the fetishization of Asian women. Brandi Glanville, the former star of the reality series, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” appears on a scene in one of those films.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division, Homicide Special Section, at 213-486-6890. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247).
